ADOLPHUS DUPLISSEY-- Died at the residence of his nephew, Mr. P.P. Duplissey, on Indian Creek, Rapides Parish, La., February 17, 1902, at 8:15 o'clock p.m. Adolphus Duplissey was 84 years and 8 months. He was born in Marksville, Avoyelles parish, La., on June 17, 1817.
He leaves two sons, Jerry Duplissey, now resident of St. Landry Parish, and Josh E. Duplissey, a resident of this parish, and a host of friends and relatives throughout the country to mourn his loss.
He was one of the greatest hunters in America. He resided a number of years in Winn parish and from there came to Rapides and has been a resident of this parish for many years. He was a member of the Baptist church for a number of years. He will be laid to rest in St. Landry parish tomorrow evening.
